Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:47 am

The Office or Fair Trading (OFT) have new guidance and new requirements for all lenders to help customers who require some form of loan and credit. Lenders have been told not to mislead borrowers and must make some reasonable assesment on repayment affordability. This guidance from the OFT aims to protect consumers but also clamp down on unscrupulous lenders.New rules have been welcomed by charity Citizens Advice “Irresponsible lending plays a significant part of the many debt problems”, said Peter Tutton of CAB. The OFT have also made recommendations that lenders monitor repayments by borrowers and help them. So, changes are being made to help those who need to borrow and those lenders who do not proactively ‘warn’ borrowers in advance that they are sinking further and further into debt. The true enforecement of such regulations will be seen in a few years by the decrease of credit card debt, but for now check out justclearmydebts.com for help and advice…

Don’t hide those debts…

According to research done on behalf of the Post Office, nearly one third of people ‘hide’ the true extent of their debt from family. Credit card applications do not require a partner or spouse’ approval even if they jointly own the family home. More than a quarter of men and one in six women do not tell their partners how much they owe in debt. This often leads to problems, not only those of trust in the relationship, but ultimately there is a risk that the family home is at stake to pay off the debts. The current hidden debt figure in the UK is £55bn.The message is clear, firstly don’t get into unmanageable debt and secondly, if you have, get help quick. That’s where we can help in providing pratical advice and workable payment methods. Go to www.justclearmydebts.com …..you can tell us..
